Monday 23rd July is Public Holiday

President Jammeh has declared Monday 23rd July, 2007 as public holiday. The declaration is made with regards to the 13th anniversary of the coup that brought him to power on the 22nd July 1994, which this year falls on a Sunday. The country’s officialdom has been in the grips of celebratory euphoria for over a week now as the Sunday July 22nd approaches.
