President Jammeh has declared Monday 23^rd July, 2007 as public holiday. The declaration is made with regards to the 13^th anniversary of the coup that brought him to power on the 22^nd July 1994, which this year falls on a Sunday. The country’s officialdom has been in the grips of celebratory euphoria for over a week now as the Sunday July 22^nd approaches.
